BREAST AUGMENTATION
The augmentation should lead to a natural but full "young" breast. The material used must be suited to this purpose. Dr. Blaschke prefers silicone implants which allow placement under breast gland and muscle alike. This should create good cleavage and fullness. Three access incisions are popular, Dr. Blaschke prefers the submammary one as it is overall least conspicuous and painful.
The Procedure
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia. Careful measurement is important. The normally inframammary incision is as short as ever possible. An exact pouch is formed and the implant is inserted. A shaping dressing is applied. After a night in a private hospital under our care the dressing is changed to a light wound cover. An elastic band has to be worn for 3 weeks to keep the implant safely in place. Dr. Blaschke and his team will see you regulary. If applicable the single stitch is removed within 10 days. You should be able to return to work within days, but lifting or carrying should be avoided for 3 weeks.
Surgeon’s Remarks
I place great emphasis on achieving a natural but full juvenile shape. This necessitates a careful preparation of the pouch and particularly elastic implants. If the breast is exposed to the sun on the beach, the periareolar scar can burn and turn red and inflamed, whereas the axillary incision often leads to prolonged pain. Therefore I prefer the inframammary incision.
