SWEAT GLAND TREATMENT - EXCESSIVE SWEATING

Uncontrollable sweating under the axilla is a widespread problem. Treatment with Botulinum toxine injection works well – but the effect is limited in time. A longlasting result can be achieved by suctioning the sweat glands through small stab incisions, which is in contrast to the traditional method practically scarfree.

Procedure Excessive sweating can be stopped by paralysis of the sweat glands with Botulinum toxine using very small needles; the effect lasts about 6 months. Alternatively anaesthetic solution is instilled under the skin through stab incisions. The sweat glands are then removed with thin canulae. The operation is performed as an outpatient procedure. There is no open wound, and no sutures are needed. Surgeon´s Remarks Uncontrollable sweating is socially isolating and professionally limiting. We have two methods at our disposal, which are reliable and carry a short downtime. Satisfaction is usually very high.
